Tata Sky
Tata Sky added 5 SD channels including 4 satellite channels namely Studio Yuva, Samay, Kalvi TV, Gubbare and 1 platform service Tata Sky CuriosityStream. The operator removed 1 channel called Studio One+.
Tata Sky CuriosityStream is launched in partnership with factual media and entertainment company CuriosityStream. The channel will give access to educational, non-fictional content from science and technology to history and nature to society and lifestyle on television sets for free of charge. Content of CuriosityStream also added in Tata Sky Binge and mobile app.
For existing customers, the company launched a new offer to provide a free monthly subscription of Hungama Music Pro to users who subscribe to Tata Sky Music or Music+ service. For new customers and multi TV buyers, it started offering flat Rs 150, Rs 200 and Rs 400 discounts on HD, Binge+ and HD+ PVR set-top boxes. It also introduced 8 packages for new acquisitions.
Airtel Digital TV
Airtel Digital TV only added a SD platform service last month. The company partnered with Vedantu to launch ‘Vedantu Masterclass’ for Rs 4 per day or Rs 120 per month. It is an educational platform service that will cater to students from Class 6 to Class 12 covering Maths and Science
Dish TV & d2h
Dish TV had poor performance, continuing the trend of removing channels, the operator dropped 7 more channels- Udaya Movies, Star Suvarna, TV9 Telugu, Kairali TV, Asianet, Paras TV, First India News. It haven’t added any channel last month.
d2h, on the other hand, added 1 educational channel- Kalvi Tholaikkatchi and dropped 2 other channels namely 99 TV Telugu and Housefull Movies.
Sun Direct
No channel got added or dropped from Sun Direct in November. The DPO only launched retention offers and made minor changes in some of its packages. Vidya & Nipuna are added in Bengali DPO packs while Zee Anmol is removed from Bengali DPO 1 pack.
Under retention offers for inactive customers it provided Tamil DPO1 pack at Rs 999 for 9 months (effectively Rs 111 per month), Kannada DPO1 at Rs 494, Bengali DPO1 at Rs 490, Tamil DPO1 at Rs 489, Odia DPO1 at Rs 491, Telugu DPO1 at Rs 495, Marathi DPO1A at Rs 599, Malayalam DPO1 at Rs 493, and ROI DPO 1A at Rs 598 for 3 months.
DD Free Dish
The Free-to-air satellite television provider has added Popular TV and News State UP/UK on MPEG-4. Both of these channels won slot in 49th E-Auction for the period from 10.11.2020 to 31.03.2021.
