Independent TV Limited is all set to relaunch its DTH operations on August 15. In an internal communication sent by the company to its dealers exclusively accessed by DreamDTH, the company has revealed its exact date of relaunching of operations along with the plan laid for the future. Independent TV today had a meeting where its JDS and SSD met with the company’s CEO. Addressing its channels partners the internal note has a brief summary of the minutes of today’s meeting. The company has revealed that its satellite signals will be on air from the midnight of 15th August. Upon the commencement of its operations, the customers will be able to watch FTA channels.
On Wednesday the company will have a meeting with the CAS company. If it turns out to be successful the existing STBs will start working as it is with the pay channels, If it is not successful then there will be an update of the CAS software to avoid any problems. Freezing issues on pay channels could be seen. In such a scenario DOA, existing old and new set-top boxes will have to be replaced.
The company will be coming up with new schemes to liquidate the existing stock. The company will then launch a new STB on 1st October which is expected to come with new technology. Independent TV has also got 3 new investors and will invest in 3 phases. Some new experienced persons will also join as directors so that there is no problem in working in the future. Things will be shared with the channel partners as soon as new developments occur.
The new development comes 4 days after TDSAT had revealed that Independent TV was yet to make required payments or furnish bank guarantee to Antrix for the supply of signals. DreamDTH had earlier reported the DTH operators Halchal Project which was aimed to relaunch its services as ITV 2.0.
