New Delhi: DTH Operator Independent TV has admitted its total liabilities of Rs 3.65 Crores payable to Indiacast Media Distribution Pvt. Ltd. according to the order of the Telecom Disputes and Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) from the last week.

The tribunal hearing the broadcasting petition last week noted that the petitioner had submitted that notice had been validly served upon the DTH operator and therefore its prayer for interim relief should be heard on the same day on the basis of contents of Annexure P-14 which, prima facie, shows that the service provider had admitted the total liabilities to Rs 3.65 Crores.

Independent TV who hadn’t appeared last time sent Mr. Prateek Gupta as the advocate. He undertook to file the vakalatnama by 27 August and further prayed for a short adjournment of 2 weeks to seek instructions on the interim prayer and file a reply at least in respect of the interim prayer. The tribunal allowed the prayer.

Indiacast Media had last month moved the Telecom Disputes and Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) against Independent TV for recovery.
