MIB approves renamed TV licenses for News Bartaman 24×7, Shemaroo Umang, and Bharat 24 vision of New India

3 renamed satellite TV licenses updated in MIB's permitted satellite TV channels repository.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today updated its permitted satellite TV channels repository with the renaming of three existing satellite TV channels to make way for News Bartaman 24×7, Shemaroo Umang, and Bharat 24 vision of New India. The renaming of TV licenses may have taken place earlier but was updated in the ministry’s public database today.

LCGC Broadcasting (India) Private Limited’s ‘6TV’ TV license has been renamed to ‘News Bartaman 24×7’. The ‘News and Current Affairs’ TV license was initially granted on 5th February 2019 named ‘6TV’. The TV license has permission to broadcast in all Indian scheduled languages including Telugu. The license is authorised for uplinking and downlinking and operates from GSAT-17, an Indian satellite.

MGK Printing & Broadcasting Private Limited’s ‘Dhinchaak’ TV license has been renamed to ‘Shemaroo Umang’. The ‘Non-News and Current Affairs’ TV license was initially granted on 8th July 2014 named ‘Blue’ before being subsequently renamed as ‘Naaptol Blue’, ‘Blue’, and ‘Dhinchaak’ on different occasions. The TV license has permission to broadcast in all Indian scheduled languages including Hindi, Punjabi, and English. The license is authorised for uplinking and downlinking and operates from GSAT-30, an Indian satellite.

Lastly, Live News India Network Private Limited’s ‘Lotus News’ TV license has been renamed to ‘Bharat 24 vision of New India’. The ‘News and Current Affairs ‘TV license was initially granted on 10th March 2011 named ‘Nation News’ being before subsequently renamed as ‘Lotus News’. The TV license has permission to broadcast in all Indian scheduled languages including English and Hindi. The license is authorised for uplinking and downlinking and operates from GSAT-30, an Indian satellite.
