MIB directs MSOs/LCOs to not carry prohibited ‘iPlus TV’ channel or to face action
MSOs/LCOs warned by I&B Ministry to refrain from airing ‘iPlus TV’ or face action under relevant clauses of CTN Act,1995.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today directed all Multi-System Operators (MSOs), Local Cable Operators (LCOs), and All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF) to not carry/downlink ‘iPlus TV channel’ on their networks, failing which appropriate action will be initiated against the defaulters by the Ministry as per the clauses of the Cable Television Network (Regulation) Act, 1995.
Rule 6(6) of the Cable Television Network Rules 1994 specifies that no cable operator shall carry or include in his cable service any television broadcast or channel which has not been registered by the Central Government for being viewed within the territory of India.
The Ministry has prohibited M/s I Plus TV Telemedia Private Limited from the promotion of ‘iPlus TV’ for the purpose of downlinking by any person including individuals or cable operators in this country, since no permission has been given to M/s I Plus TV Telemedia Private Limited to uplink/downlink ‘iPlus TV’ by the Ministry. As such, ‘iPlus TV’ channel is not authorized to be downloaded by anyone in India.
