The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) recently renamed TV18 Broadcast Limited’s existing satellite TV channel license paving the way for the broadcaster to launch ‘News18 Jammu Kashmir Ladakh Himachal’.
The Ministry has renamed TV18’s ‘News18 Urdu’ satellite TV license to make way for ‘News18 Jammu Kashmir Ladakh Himachal‘. The renamed satellite TV license was inducted into the Ministry’s permitted satellite TV channels database last month.

The ‘News and Current Affairs’ category TV license was initially granted to Panorama Television Private Limited on 6th June 2001 named ‘ETV Urdu’. The license was subsequently renamed ‘News18 Urdu’. The license has the permission to broadcast in Urdu and operates from GSAT-30, an Indian satellite. The license has both uplinking and downlinking permission.
The Ministry additionally has also remained TV18’s ‘News18 Punjab/Haryana/Himachal Pradesh/’ satellite TV license. The satellite TV channel license has been renamed ‘News18 Punjab Haryana‘.
The ‘News and Current Affairs’ category TV license was initially granted to Panorama Television Private Limited on 30th July 2010 named ‘ETV Haryana/Himachal Pradesh’. The license was subsequently renamed ‘News18 Punjab/Haryana/Himachal Pradesh’.
The license is authorized to broadcast in Punjabi and Hindi with both uplinking and downlinking permission. It operates from GSAT-30, an Indian satellite.
