Japanese broadcaster NHK World Japan is working on resolving the satellite TV license cancellation in India is likely to return back to satellite pay-TV platforms in India provided the Ministry grants it a TV license. While it is not clear as to what transpired between the two entities which led to the cancellation of NHK World Japan’s TV licenses abruptly, NHK World Japan has quite clearly not exited India.
A source close to the development told DreamDTH that NHK World Japan was working on resolving the issue with the Ministry. NHK World Japan in the meantime has urged its customers to watch their channel through the live streaming service available on its website. The company will inform as and when new broadcast options become available in India.
For the unversed, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has cancelled the satellite TV license of Japanese broadcaster NHK World Japan. The companies two licenses held by Noida Software Technology Park Limited were cancelled last month by the Ministry.
NXTDIGITAL had first shed light on the cancellation of the TV licenses through a scroll on its websites informing the unavailability of the channels on its platform due to the Ministry’s decision.
