MIB confirms cancellation of TV licenses of ‘NHK World Premium’ and ‘NHK World TV’

MIB has as claimed earlier by NXTDIGITAL cancelled the satellite TV license of ‘NHK World Premium’ and ‘NHK World TV’ with immediate effect.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has today confirmed the cancellation of satellite TV license of Japanese broadcaster NHK World Japan. The companies two licenses held by Noida Software Technology Park Limited were cancelled last month which are now incorporate in the ‘Cancelled TV Channels’ database of the Ministry.

MIB has as claimed earlier by NXTDIGITAL cancelled the satellite TV license of ‘NHK World Premium’ and ‘NHK World TV’ with immediate effect. While the Ministry’s database has stated that the licenses were cancelled today, the licenses are believed to have been cancelled last month itself by the Ministry.

With this, the number of cancelled TV channels as on date stands at 311, up from 309 a few days ago. The Ministry has recently cancelled the satellite TV license of ‘BNB‘ apart from Turner International’s HBO, WB, and HBO HD TV licenses. The Ministry also recently gave the nod to Mantaro Network to launch another Tamil News channel named ‘News J2’.
