India’s public broadcaster Prasar Bharati today announced that the broadcaster had signed and exchanged content hosting agreement with Novi Digital Entertainment Private Limited for telecasting its DD India channel onboard Hotstar in the United States of America, United Kingdom, and Canada.
The channel is now available on Hotstar in aforementioned three countries effective from 22nd January. To watch DD India on Hotstar one can simply search for DD India under the search option in the channels category. The arrangement is a bid from Prasar Bharati to develop an international audience for Doordarshan and create a global voice for India.
The availability of DD India on Hotstar in the UK, USA, and Canada will allow the Indian diaspora to have a new window and see and experience the development stories of a new and self-reliant India.
The broadcaster is looking to expand the global footprint of DD and engage younger digitally savvy South Asian audiences in the aforementioned countries.
