On 7th February DreamDTH reported quoting Tata Sky representatives that the operator had discontinued selling new SD connections. The company had said that it has stopped selling SD boxes because HD boxes are better and compatible with all types of televisions. In addition to this, the SD STB was removed from Tata Sky website and the web page for that STB was also giving 404 error.

But recently the DTH operator has re-added the SD box on their website and new SD connections are now also available to be purchased. DreamDTH accessed SMS sent by Tata Sky to its dealers in which it has informed that all 5 boxes- SD, HD, 4K, HD+ and Binge+ are still available to sell.

Given the contradictory informations from various sources we reached to Tata Sky for clarification on this matter. Tata Sky officials on condition of anonymity told us that there was a technical glitch in their systems which caused all these miscommunications, the official further added that the glitch is now fixed and SD connections can be purchased through website, dealers network or customer service.

As confirmed by the official since the technical glitch is fixed the response of Tata Sky representatives have been reversed, they are now telling that SD boxes are available to be ordered for new connections.
