The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) will be disposing of the plea by Prasar Bharati against Movie Plus for the non-payment of the installment for the month of May. The final disposal of the matter has been put back due to extra time asked by Prasar Bharati to file its reply.

Prasar Bharati had earlier raised the issue of Swami Films Entertainment run Free to Air (FTA) Hindi movie channel Movie Plus not paying the dues for the month of May 2020.

Prasar Bharati had raised the issue of alleged non-payment for the month of May 2020 by Movie Plus either of the complete installment or reduced installment as per the scheme. TDSAT had by extraordinary measures allowed adjustment of payment for the month of May out of the security deposit that was available with Prasar Bharati with the way of the participation fee.

Prasar Bharati had stated that the adjustment was only possible at the end of the agreement with TDSAT noting that final adjudication would be needed from its end. Prasar Bharati was given time by the tribunal to bring on record the relevant facts but ended up asking for more time.
