The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) recently invited proposals for accreditation of labs for testing of conditional access system (CAS) and subscriber management system (SMS).
The interested labs and organizations can respond to TEC for accreditation by sending an email. The proposals were invited by TEC on 24th June 2022. The last date for responding to TEC for accreditation for testing of CAS & SMS is 7th July 2022.
TRAI’s order dated 20th September 2021 had declared TEC as the testing and certification agency for CAS and SMS used for broadcasting and cable TV services. TEC had recently approved test guides which were released by TRAI Chairman on 15th June 2022.
The release of the test guide was an important step toward the implementation of the requirements for technical compliance of CAS and SMS. The roll-out of testing and certification of CAS and SMS will help achieve the desired benefits.
