Seeking Help Proper switching off of set top box

I would like to know how to switch off set top box during normal use. In my area there is lot of power fluctuations, still now I switch off TV with remote then switch off the plug. But stb I don't switch off using remote , should I do that before switching off plug

Not necessary if you switch off stb from plug.

Exactly what i do. No need to turn off STB from remote.

Is there connection between turning TV from remote and then from switch? Bcoz, I never turn it off from remote first I directly switch it off from switch.

There is no connection. But TV is the display device so one should consider shutting it down before turning off from main powers.

Where as DTH devices are having circuit board inside which doesn't required to be turned off everytime you switch off power.
