TV Today Network registers Rs 51.03 crores net profit in Q1 FY 19-20. Television broadcast business sees improvement as radio and newspaper business go into red.

TV Today Network on Friday announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2019.

TV Today’s consolidated revenues from operations increased to Rs 246.13 crores as compared to Rs 175,89 crores in the preceding quarter. Total income increased to Rs 260.49 crores as compared to Rs 190.77 crores in the previous quarter. Total expenses increased to Rs 182.10 crores as compared to Rs 151.11 crores in the previous quarter.

While the cost of material consumer decreased, production cost, employees benefit expense and other expenses increased. The company made a profit of Rs 51.03 crores after tax as compared to Rs 24.04 crores in the previous quarter.

Earnings per share stood at Rs 8.55 as compared to Rs 4.03 in the previous quarter. The television broadcasting business generated Rs 207.73 crores in revenue as compared to Rs 141.46 crores in the previous quarter. 

The radio broadcasting business saw a decline in revenue from Rs 46.5 crores to Rs 37.8 crores this quarter. The newspaper publishing business was also in red as revenues dropped.

At the time of going to press TV, Today Network was trading at Rs 308.05 up by Rs 4.70 or 1.55% as against a previous close of Rs 303.35 on the BSE.
