Direct to Home (DTH) operator Airtel Digital TV has swapped Star Sports 1 Bangla with Star Sports 1 Hindi in Bengali packs due to the ongoing Dream11 IPL 2020. The move will ensure continuity of access to Dream11 IPL 2020 for those customers who might have had Star Sports 1 Bangla in their curated packages or self-made packages which might carry any of Star’s Bengali bouquets.
With Dream11 IPL 2020 not being broadcasted on Star Sports 1 Bangla Airtel Digital TV has swapped it for Star Sports 1 Hindi which is broadcasting Dream11 IPL 2020. The same will allow continuity of ongoing T20 Series without any extra cost.
For the unaware, Star’s Bengali bouquets allow distribution platform operators to either choose Star Sports 1 Bangla or Star Sports 1 Hindi as part of the bouquet. Normally, the distribution platform operators would obviously go for Star Sports 1 Bangla but with Dream11 IPL 2020 not being telecasted on the aforesaid channel, Airtel has decided to switch its option from Star Sports 1 Bangla to Star Sports 1 Hindi.
Sun Direct is also said to have exercised the same option with Star Sports 1 Hindi replacing Star Sports 1 Bangla. The same is however yet to reflect on Sun Direct’s website. For the unaware, Tata Sky has left the option of choosing between either of the channels since the launch of these bouquets by splitting the bouquets into two variants that carry both channels separately.
