Broadcasters and TV Serial Producers urged by I&B Ministry to clear payments due to persons engaged in the sector

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on Friday urged broadcasters and producers of TV serials to take a compassionate view and ensure pending remunerations of persons employed in the broadcast sector is cleared upto March 2020 at the earliest.

The Ministry noted that it was seized of the impact on the broadcast sector due to the pandemic of COVID-19 and was working on a war footing to liquidate the pendency of advertisement bills of the media industry. It had earlier had a discussion with the broadcasters over the issues faced by the sector and its concerns.

MIB noted that the livelihoods of the employees was equally important who are working in the sector with a large number of TV artists paid modestly engaged for the production of various TV serials. While their services were taken, they were not paid the remuneration with the Ministry emphasizing the imminent need to give the remuneration so that it cannot be lost sight of.

I&B Ministry has urged the broadcasters and producers of TV serials to take a compassionate view and ensure payments due to such persons up to March 2020 is cleared at the earliest which will be give immense relief to them and their families.
