Star Gold 2 HD is being launched to compete with &pictures.

Positioning of Star's hindi movie channels with Zee's hindi movie channels is as follows:

SG	Zee Cinema
SG 2	&pictures
SG Select	&xplor
UTV Movies / SG Romance	Zee Bollywood
SG Thrills	Zee Action
Star Utsav Movies	Zee Anmol Cinema
----------	Zee Classic

As you can see, SG Romance is competing with Zee Bollywood. I think it should be named SG Bollywood.

Also Star is lacking a channel to compete with Zee Classic.

No comparison between Disney-Star and Zee as far as range/quality of content offered on their hindi movie channels. Disney-Star offers so much good content be it bollywood or dubbed hollywood movies. Also UTV Action , UTV HD airs wide variety of extremely good dubbed hollywood movies while Zee Action airs mostly low budget bollywood movies alongwith few popular ones which r again repeated very often across zee network hindi movie channels

A new retro bollywood movie channel might soon launch from Disney-Star or maybe Star Utsav Movies will be rebranded/revamped as a classic bollywood movie channel while UTV Movies might be launched on DD Free Dish and air bollywood movies from 80s until now alongwith some dubbed hollywood movies

Yes, people watch both UTV Action and UTV HD....one is a SD channel and another is HD so movie viewing experience is definitely better on HD feed but SD channel has more viewership bcoz most people still subscribe to SD channels

UTV HD airs many big budget / popular dubbed hollywood movies too and improving on this with each passing day. Also many new movies do get aired on it alongwith old ones so ur claim that it airs just 10 or 20 year old movies is incorrect.


Star Utsav may not come onboard DD Free Dish as broadcasters are not willing to bring their Hindi GEC channels on this platform but as far as hindi movie channels are concerned they r ready to make it available on DD Free Dish DTH Platform hence the changes i mentioned may/can happen

I think star gold 2 hd launching tomorrow as samrat prithviraj premiere is there on star gold 2. Most importantly this is the first movie premiere on star gold 2 which is at 8pm as earlier all the movies priemered at 7pm. So there could be a chance.

Ok bro, but last time wtp of good luck jerry aired at 7pm and all the movies weather on weekdays or weekends air on 7 pm, thats why i think it wil be launching tomorrow.

No buddy. Sometimes movies do air at 8 PM. Mostly sunday movies get aired at 8 PM on Star Gold 2 , on weekends 7 or 8 PM slot is decided based on scheduling strategy decided by disney-star team
