south beam will cover whole of India as usual. But we ll loose the north beam.

No bro, we can receive it (north beam) with 150-180cm dish easily.

Eirp at near j&k is 45dbw with suits 80-90cm. In our region if eirp dicreases by 5 dbw then we need 120cm dish, so no need to worry but we should ready a solid or universal 6 feet now.

yeah bro... but its not d same as receiving it on a 70 cm dish.
As I use my adtv dish only to fetch abs1 signals. :shy

I predict a 5ft dish wud do for our place...
But yes now we shud buy a 6ft dish now..its high time.

Sahi, but now we need & not forget its a new very power full satellite. We received abs1 at eol time. Now we will get fresh & powerfull signals with new sd & hd chs. hya

Now d channels will be in mpeg4 only. Earlier on abs1... majority of d tps were mpeg2.

I had tried some setups in which abs1 was side lnb... I cud get mpeg4 tps with abs1 side lnb but dint get any mpeg2 tps.... which shows mpeg4 tps were really strong... as I cud get em in side lnb as well.

So... we shud be optimistic... abt d new power of abs2. hya
