Now Doordarshan is bargaining with Star Group to get a reasonable rate to telecast sachin's 200th test match on Doordarshan's National Channel.

Due to Test matches is not come under "Mandatory Sports Signal Sharing - Prasar Bharati Act" and here 75:25 ad revenue sharing with rights holding broadcaster(here star) term will not be applicable.

So this is the big challenge for DD to get the simulcast rights from star sports for high price; Return on Investment is risky one for DD.

But DD have more interested to telecast the 200th match.

So that Star group is demanding high price from DD.

Let’s see how Doordarshan has to pay for the telecast rights of 200th test match.

Note: All shows / programmes will remain suspended during test match on DD National Channel.

Good work DD. But DD should understand that it is a national channel so it has to show national sports bilingual Hindi and English.

While DD1 is telecasting in Hindi why cant DD Sports do the same in English?. Every time these Cricket matches come i start to watch and within a few minutes cant understand a single word (i can understand Hindi, but these comments are quite fast and i couldn't get even a word and i get irritated) and then i watch a few minutes under Mute and later i get pissed off and switch off, this nation and its product DD cant be this mean and serve only a part of the nation. They have to serve in both the languages as DD runs on peoples tax.

Yes, DD used to be better and had an upper hand earlier.

This is the reason why DD is losing its grounds in the South. No-one watches any of the DD products here and the Tamil version of DD just runs with little or no audience. When they give they have to give it good to make money, just for the sake of giving would only waste the hard earned peoples money.

DD National is avalible on terrestial mode while DD Sport doesn't.
so live cricket event is shown only dd national channel.
they have only terrestial right not satellite right so they can't show it on dd sports...
