But but but my question and suggestions for star sports remains same na

What will i do if it was available earlier earlier monthly lock in also not available star should think about this or adtv it's all about customer interest but star and adtv not think about customer

Buddy, let New RIO get fully implemented....i believe such kind of broadcaster bouquet would be provided by Disney-Star. Right now as broadcaster bouquet itself is unavailable then how can Airtel Digital TV provide it to u? They must be completing the formalities or awaiting go ahead from Disney-Star to roll out the same for customers. Once it is available all customers would be able to opt for it or even subscribe to concerned Add On pack created by Airtel Digital TV which fulfills this requirement.

Thank you bro for details confirmation

Presently Star Movies HD and Star Movies Select HD also are included only in SPP regional packs. For SD atleast they have SPP mini tamil pack @ 50.74 which includes star movies. None of channels which were planned by star to close are currently part of any pack. I expect an SPP pack by Star specifically for English like before in both SD and HD which will include All sports, eng movies and infotainment channels after revamp and launch of new channels. This will be priced not less than 70 for SD and 100 for HD. I don't expect any attractive curated packs from Airtel in which they are very poor. They didn't have any attractive curated packs in the past like other operators. I don't expect it now.

Wait for some more time buddy let the new broadcaster bouquets be made available by Airtel Digital TV and other operators to their customers.

Airtel Digital TV is infact quite good in crafting affordable curated DPO packs. You may be wanting them to create a discounted DPO bouquet which contains just English GEC, English Movies, Sports, Infotainment by combining such broadcaster bouquet or A-La-Carte channels available from different broadcasters but i believe broadcasters themselves would not be wanting such a thing to be done by operators and rather want operators to push maximum channels in such Low NCF/ discounted DPO bouquets. This is why u will see operators only providing discounts on DPO bouquets and not when customer opts for creating own pack by mixing different broadcaster bouquets, a-la-carte channels and Add On Packs provided by operators.

Even if Airtel creates such Add On Packs by combining say broadcaster bouquets like Star Premium Prime or other such bouquet from different broadcasters which offers English, Infotainment, Sports channels channels then i am certain that there would not be any discount or just marginal discount provided on overall price of a pack. Also i am not even sure if operators can create Add On Packs by including broadcaster bouquets in it, i think it is not allowed and only a-la-carte channels can be combined to create DPO Add On Packs or Top Ups. I have already explained in above paragraph why such a DPO bouquet would be difficult to find by.

Lastly for niche or premium sports channels operators tend to provide less discounts as these cater to an audience base which have more purchasing power. But anyways all i can say is that on some decisions operators cannot take a decision on its own, they need to take broadcasters into confidence before implementing such things. In my opinion broadcasters and operators should allow providing such bouquets to customers rather than being insecure of losing out on subscriptions or ad revenue. Give subscribers choice to opt for channels they want to, same ways broadcasters need to provide a-la-carte channels at affordable pricing rather than keeping th high and giving heavy discount on broadcaster bouquet so that people find a-la-carte option unattractive.

Also since u said that other operators provided such curated packs which Airtel Digital TV did not, can u please quote few of such examples. Thanks

Latest Airtel App Negative.

You can't remove Base pack for Only DD pack means NCF Rs. 153/-

for that you have to install old version apk then its possible.

Airtel should think about this.
For thread title move of adtv and quoted move

Bro, DPO packs are not the topic we are discussing now. Airtel is having good mid range DPO packs. We are talking about curated mini packs. In which Airtel didn't take any effort in the past. They just combine some channels and they charge directly the sum of their a la carte prices. Also these packs were very limited in Airtel. Sun Direct and Tata Play had many such packs accross different genres and languages. For example, Sun Direct used to offer all sports HD channels for 100rs. What I am saying is Airtel was not interested in offering these kind of packs. I can say now also they are not interested. Their objective is to make us opt for their high end DPO packs. They don't want us to opt for their discounted mid range packs and add other channels also at discount. I am only expecting broadcasters bouquets from Star after revamp and launch of new channels mainly Eng SPP packs and Eng movies mini SD & HD packs.

Airtel Digital TV does offer such Add On Packs, many r still listed on the airtel app while some stand withdrawn. As i have stated these can be made only by combining various a-la-carte channels and broadcaster bouquet cannot be included in it. I have already explained in great detail on this in my previous post. Do not expect these to be available at discounted price on any DTH or Cable TV Platform , already shared the reason in the earlier post.

If u have examples of any operator providing discounts on such add on packs then please share with proof / screenshot of price and add on pack composition.

By the way ur statement that Airtel Digital TV is only interested in providing high end DPO bouquets at discounted price is entirely wrong, infact UDP plans from Airtel offer FTA + many popular channels at extremely low cost and thid is a basic price. If u calculate the price of pay channels included in it then u will notice that Airtel Digital TV is offering it to customers at 0 NCF and infact even giving discount on pay channels price. Now if i list out other region/state or account specific basic , mid level or even higher DPO bouquets then again there r huge discounts provided on the same. Also if u r enrolled under Airtel Black then there is just 10 or 15% of the actual NCF amount applicable for a DPO bouquet charged to a customer,,also even if u opt for Make Your Own Pack option then still around 50% discount on NCF is given and even many other additional benefits r provided including getting 354 Rs. Worth of channels by just paying Rs. 200. For more details on this Airtel Black DTH Plans general discussion thread .

Regular customers also getting recharge bonus on topping up their DTH Account with certain specific denominations, same is applicable once in a month.

Also Airtel Digital TV has extremely good affordable new connection or secondary connection or upgrade offers which r again heavily discounted and offer free subscription of DPO packs/bouquets as well as complimentary OTT subscriptions

Bro, if they offer good curated mini packs this question would have raised in the first place. Also, this wasn't raised in the past as they were nothing but sum of a la carte prices and hence people were opting for a la carte as it didn't have 30d lock-in. Now that they have implemented 30d lock-in, people care about discounted curated packs. 30d lock-in is a stupid rule and they should revoke. Me as a customer don't need any explanation but affordable packs. Now the question is will they bring good mini packs in the future ? I say no. You give your answer. Simple as that. Don't need to beat around the bush.

I have already given you an example. Now it's with you to do the research. They had many varieties of mini packs. Please check.

Please read my reply properly before you reply to it. I never said that Airtel is interested in only providing high end pakcs. I explicitly said they have good mid range packs. Please read my reply again. UDP packs and other discounted DPO packs are all mid range packs. High end packs are mega packs in which they hardly give any discount. You may argue they give LDP discount for these packs. Every operator provide this.

Irrelevant. Please stick to the point.

We have already discussed a lot about 30 day lock policy for a-la-carte channels implemented by airtel digital tv alongwith possible reasons for the same. I am of the opinion that this may be some kind of combined decision taken by operators and will get implemented on other DTH Platforms too in coming future or as i have stated in earlier posts that this can be a temporary step taken by airtel to ease of load on server/system in absence of broadcaster bouquets thus making customers often drop/add standalone channels. Even i am in favour of not having 30 day lock in policy for bouquets or channels.

UDP packs r basic starter DPO pack and not in any way a high end pack, even there r host of other mid level discounted DPO packs which r again subscribed by majority of audience and provides all popular. High end packs r the ones which include popular as well as niche channels like Mega Pack and discounts r provided on it too. As i have mentioned earlier that mass oriented packs will always be more discounted as compared to niche offerings bcoz of simple reason that niche subscribers r considered to have somewhat more purchasing power which helps scale up ARPU for the operator.

Add On Packs / Top Ups can be created by operators by combining a-la-carte channels and broadcaster bouquet cannot be included in it. Already explained in above posts why discount is not provided on the same. None of the operators provide any discount on such add on packs, if there is discount provided then it will be minimal

I too hope so buddy. As i have been saying since long that lot of changes and steps r likely to be implemented soon on Airtel Digital TV Platform. Let us wait n watch. Backend work has been ongoing since last 7 or 8 months, bcoz of efforts to adhere with new amended NTO 2.0 regulations Team Airtel Digital TV would be lot busy hence other pending things would have gotten little delayed but next month i expect all of it be gradually completed and brought into effect on the platform
