If this deal will complete then they should use single satellite for both dth with common channels on platform otherwise they will be next Dish - d2h sure because few years ago everyone expected something new between Dish TV and D2h merging but we all know what's happened after merging ;)
DishTV management, led by Subhash Chandra and Jawahar Goel, are considered incompetent and fraudulent. In contrast, Airtel's management is praised for their expertise, poised to dominate India's DTH market through Airtel-Tataplay,

It's worth noting Subhas Chandra and Jawahar Goel's political ties, but that's a separate issue. On color preferences, dark orange is unpopular. Notably, Our DreamDTH members largely dislike DishTV calling it the worst.

So because of this reasons Tata Play dropped the IPO Launch and taking no interest in launching new channels or new economical packages for its customers on other hand ADTV started removing channels since last 2 months so it seems the deal is already near and ADTV will use Tata Play Satellites to beam its DTH service in future as SES7 is expiring Next year April they'll acquire Tata Play Instead of Acquiring New Satellite from SES . I'm really happy that ADTV will acquire it because Tatas have lost interest in DTH Businesses whereas Airtel is trying to improve here with New Ideas to tackle OTTs .

I think CCI will reject this merger due to more than 50% market share of Airtel+Tata DTH (now 60% above)
Note: Disney Star+Viacom18 combine market share is less than 45%.
When Dish d2h merged they also have nearly 50% Market share . CCI will not object here because already Tata Play market share is decreasing.

Its sad news for Tata play users, though happy with airtel , but don't like its dth policies . there is a possibility airtel would increase channel lock in period in Tata play from 1 day to 30 days like in airtel, citing losses incurred by tata play. hope they retain both brands or at least improve customer service like earlier Tata sky.
