Oh Please!

Don't Go Too Much Off The Track!

Matter Is Different Bro!

Let's Not Make Fun
Then what's the scenario bro?
If both IPTV & DTH will run parallely then how this acquisition, stock clearance of HD STBs & launch of IPTV are co-related?
What's the unexpected happening?

Bro! Need A Clarification

Ad Per ZH Airtel's IPTV STB Won't Be Hybrid!

Can't Connect To Dish, In That Case, Updates Should Be Post On OTF Only Right?
Anna please confirm the same, i sense it will be hybrid.... If not then maybe Airtel planning to keep IPTV boxes separate and combine the service with its Airtel Black and even provide on standalone basis while for DTH they might be planning to acquire Tata Play and streamline its HD boxes outsourcing thru single channel wherein these HD boxes will be compatible with both Airtel Digital TV and Tata Play encryption / satellite parameters.... This will be better than having separate STB models/variants and will save money too... Also anna please confirm if post acquiring Tata Play are there any plans of Airtel Digital TV migrating its operations to GSat 24, GSat 30 in phased manner as SES 7 is set to retire

I think Airtel is plannung to share swap in to Tata Play, so they are segregated connected homes/ fiber homes, move them to iptv for reducing market share in DTH business for CCI approval.

Stop of new box buying is a very big decision, even if they going to buy or sell, they will not take this too early and without any official announcement. I think there are some different reasons.

The biggest reason, I am seeing is "New Subsidiary". Recently Airtel announced separation of their DTH and other business. Now I think they are going to build a totally new subsidiary for DTH. Subsidiary means the company will have different board, CEO, Distribution etc. So Airtel maybe stopped new boxes but the new subsidiary will buy boxes and do business separately from Fiber and Telecom business of Airtel.
While Airtel(Telecom+Fiber) will not interfere in their business and also not use their DTH equipments, they will use iptv boxes for Fiber and Airfiber.

Example: Just Like Network18 is a subsidiary of Reliance but Nw18 has different CEO, Board, Financials, Distribution chain etc.

Now they are operating DTH business on Bharti Telemedia ltd, subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Ltd, so another subsidiary not required for just buying HD boxes

Yes, but Bharati telemedia is not a independent subsidiary that can take decisions, still Bharati Airtel board handling it. I think they planning to list this on stock exchange, that's why they making it a independent company with least relation with Airtel Fiber and Telecom business.
Otherwise it's not possible that a company that want to buy other company have to shutdown or sold own company.
Or maybe Tata given green signal. So, they making Airtel DTH away from their other businesses to get Tata Play on board in Bharati Telemedia.

Bharti Telemedia Ltd is seperate company having board of Directors, but 100% subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Ltd.
