Because my answer is less than 100.

When he starts, he eats one, after completing 1 k.m. he eats second apple. While finishing the 100 K.M. he would have eaten 100 apples. Also, your question is to carry maximum number of apples. I may be wrong. You better explain.

1.The person is carrying 300 apples.
2.he can carry maximum 100 apples.
