Breaking Asianet Plus rebranded with New Logo and now a movie channel

This is actually quite sad. Asianet Plus could be kept just fine as a drama channel. Are there not enough movie networks? Sad.

Asianet Plus was doing far better than Suvarna Plus. Star should've focused on re-strategising or converting Suvarna Plus to a movie channel. They will hit rock bottom if they are not doing anything with respect to this because Colors Kannada Cinema is doing pretty good and Zee would be soon launching a Kannada movie channel. Looks like Star is confused on what to do with Kannada and Malayalam markets.

They should be coz in kannada market, they rank last among Top GECs. CK, ZK, Udaya TV all are far ahead than Star Suvarna.
But in Malayalam, as a market leader, they should know well what to do or don't.

Movie pattern of Asianet plus and Asianet movies are different.Asianet plus is showing movies(majority old) which is very rarely telecasted in their complete bouquet of channels.So both the movie channels serve the viewers 2 tastes.Those collection of movies in plus may grab less ratings compared to other movies.Even Asianet plus can't touch Asianet movies but I think their rating will be better than while they telecasted programs.So star's effort in that channel reduces and rating improves.
The most irritating thing about Star south is playing movies in so called 'youth or 2nd gecs'.
