Not having any issues here on my yamaha receiver. If you're having issues with DD+ you can change the audio preference on the STB to DD.
I'm using the spdif output and DD. Getting proper sound even from the rears
It's not that I am having issues with my AV equipment. It is quite simply a TataSky problem. One that only they can resolve. And switching from DD+ to DD is of no help.

Both DD and DD+ are designed for use with AV receivers either via HDMI or SPDIF. The PCM format should be used for sound over the television.
Listening to sources encoded in DD or DD+ via a television's stereo speakers will always cause a drop in audio levels because it does not decode it fully. Only an AV receiver can. I've been using my receiver with tata sky HD ever since it has been launched and never faced a sound quality issue.
So IMO there's no fault in the audio broadcasting from tata sky's end. Just that the correct format should be used.
Thank you for the tutorial on DD / DD+. However you are assuming that I have based my complaint on audio on a TV. I can't speak for your experience. But it is obvious that you have not noticed the major drop in DD surround sound quality over the past few months.
Bottom line is, that there is a definite problem with the audio quality from TataSky.
