Best HD policy poll [HD Access Fee or Add on]

Guys there is lots of confusion arising when we select HD channels operator based on hd access policy or add on policy

* HD Access fee policy:
Customer should pay some specific money in hundreds to watch HD channels as a part of their base packs called HD Access Fee.

Advantage:
Customers can watch all HD feed of SD channels present in their package.
Disadvantage:
Customer needs to pay hd access fee even he/she wishes to see specific or regional channels
This policy followed by Tata (Sky & Videocon D2h

* Add on or A-la-carte:
Customer can watch particular or set of channels by paying a small of money.
Advantage:
Customer is allowed to pay what he wishes to watch.
Disadvantage:
This policy tends to be costlier for higher pack customers if he/she wishes to watch many or all HD channels.
This policy is followed by Airtel Digital TV, Reliance Big TV, Dish TV & Sun direct


Guys all suggestions and votes are welcome....



According to HD Access policy is best for me as I can see all newly added HD feeds of SD channels which are already available in my package

Hd access fee/ add-on pack should be reduced by all the dth opereators. For example if the channel is available in both sd and hd with same feed then there is no need for sd channels for Hd subscribers, by doing these they can reduce the HD acces fee

Not because I am using Tata Sky but
I find "HD access Fee" policy the best


Earlier I was getting 13 HD channels in my base pack
And when Tata Sky added HD channels i am getting 18 :hd channels in the same pack

Some would argue that why should we pay for SD version when we don't even watch it? I have 2 answers for it.

1) many times the content on SD & HD channels is different.
Ban VS Pak cricket series was only shown on SD

2) there are many channels in your base pack which you don't watch but you are still paying na (Okay this a kind of stupid answer)

The disadvantage which I find in "Add-on" policy is that in ADTV if we take a long term HD add-on then even if the channel is added in the pack we won't get it until We renew our pack. ( I am not sure about this. ADTV subscribers please confirm.)

I don't think it would be possible till we get 100+ :HD channels in India

Airtel's HD Addon policy is weird... Too many choices!
Dishtv has stable add ons for HD channels
