ABP News Network and ARG Outlier Media Asianet News have complained to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) about Aaj Tak’s placement on two frequencies.

In a letter to TRAI secretary, Republic TV owner ARG Outlier has stated that the India Today Group is violating regulations by placing Aaj Tak on its own LCN besides that of its other channel Tez.

ABP News Network also confirmed that it has complained about Aaj Tak dual LCN violation to the TRAI.

Yesterday Aaj Tak Feed was also available on Aaj Tak Tez LCN for Election results.

ABP News Network and Republic's ARG Media have filed a complaint to TRAI saying that- India Today Group is violating regulations by placing Aaj Tak on its own LCN besides that of its other channel Tez.

They added that Dual placement is also violative of the license terms of MIB which all channels require before they operate. The MIB license clearly mentions the channel name. genre and satellite placement terms. They also requested TRAI to urgently check this matter and take stringent action against the channel.

So it's the reason why they were leading in news as per barc
That's an old channel and I think they did this for the first time. We have to see if TRAI fines them or just gives a warning.

Let alone dual LCN, channels like Epic and Bindass r still present in wrong genre on airtel dth EPG. TRAI has clearly stated that each channel has to declare its genre and all operators have to add it only once there itself.

Clearly if such a mistake has not come under scanner of TRAI then i can well imagine what must be the case with cable operators across cities or towns. Monitoring system needs upgrade.

Also not connected to this but operators should add a Help Channel on permanent basis which gives subscriber all necessary information whether related to aftersales service , packs, offers, using features of stb etc. Tata Sky had it in initial years but later moved it to Help Page which few tune into. Having such service info channel would have helped in activating complimentary pack too on a voluntary basis, almost every subscriber would have known how he or she can get above 200 channels without NCF and decided accordingly.
