You are right..... I said it bcoz I do it myself although I am a normal user @25yr old...... And I like to inspire people for DIY jobs.....

If u call a Technician from a Reputed brand company to fix a small screw of Fan, TV or some thing else they will charge 150/- to 400/- atleast [depending on the location] ..as Service charge . spares cost is extra.. this is pattern of service provided by any Company.. i think we dont call it as Looting.
We have to pay the service charge once we call them.. the company too is giving salary or some incentives to those guys.. so its obvious that company will charge to the consumer itself..

you are bound to pay the relocation charges and there is nothing called looting here.These are fixed charges and all DTHs follow the same procedure.So please don't single out d2h as a culprit.
You can complain if your local engineer asks for more money than the stipulated amount.

That is exactly what i said kamat sir, let him bring it to the notice of the nodal officer of his area if he feels extra amount is been taken for the said purpose.

Already TataSky dish was installed in my terrace, so they used that dish and lab and just put the cable to D2H StB. For that they charged Rs. 630, for cable and joint. They not even install D2H dish, but they charge more.... Yesterday i was not in the house, so not able to ask the details why they ask Rs. 630....
