Breaking D2H (ST-2) All LCN Changing from 30th August 2021

Unexpected lcn arrangements, one step ahead to destroy them self.

India don't even have 1000 channels,not even 700 channels are available in dth platforms. Then what's the requirements of 4 digit lcns that too in 2k+ & 3k+ range. Worst move imo.

First they should make agreements with antrix to add additional bandwidth , pending channels before going to make these changes.

Exactly Dishtv and D2H both are good for nothing in terms of Adding new channels.. D2H is worst of all dth service it reminds me of Big dth service which once left after taking money..

This time kannada channels are before tamil channels
Its look like current 520 LCNs are going to filled in 1000+ LCNs
And it will be batch wise changes since they are pushing channels to 2000s+ series start changes with regional channels

4 digit lcn is very much necessary for placing channels in a systematic manner on EPG. If 3 digit lcn approach is implemented then firstly each genre will not have a proper start or end lcn and it will b very difficult to maintain gaps based on foreseeable future launches.
If say English Entertainment genre ends at 165 , would u b fine with Hindi Movie lcn starting from 170.... I would rather have a 150, 200, 250 or 275 start or end lcn for each genre

All in all 3 digit lcn system will create a unorganized epg setup and create problems in placing new chs which will need frequent ch number changes

D2h must b implementing 3000 or 4000 lcn series with a future plan in place...let's wait and see what is in store....just hope satellite integration and pending ch addition happens with this move

I think for not to affect any genre series for channel addition.. once for adding more tamil channels they shifted music channels series of 520-540 to other 270

I agree with you. 3K + digit of channel Numbers is worst decision. Even d2h is too far behind then Tata Sky in number of TV Channels.

May be in future SES-8 will be used by both dish tv and d2h. That's why 9 New Transponders applied.

If they ask users feedback before making these changes, I am sure most of users won't accept. 4 digit lcns required if they have sufficient bandwidth, but not in 2k+ and 3k+ range.

I don't think so as dish TV and d2h working in different orbital locations. D2h may got new space in st2 or dishes may aligned to ses 8 in future.
