they should provide some important events like live sports,if available, in this channel after official launch

They can't do that as of now unless & until the concerned broadcaster who holds the rights gives permission and has UHD Feed rights with them

Whats the use of such channel when stb wont support this format....even most of tvs, so d2h is trying to generate money by giving a different format channel so customers are forced to buy a new stb, but im sure this channel will also be flop as d2h 3D Channel which has nothing to watch other than repeated content everyday through out the year.

D2H don't know how to do business.. Business is to satisfy the customer's need. DTH business is to add more and more :hd channels and high demanded channels.. Hathway MSO is popular mainly because of their HD channel count. Dish TV India's leading DTH has separate satellite just for HD channels. They can easily add 70-80 :hd channels. D2H should buy 2 more transponder. And should make 3 Tp's exclusively for 40-42 :hd channels and 7-8 tp's exclusively for SD channels and services. :wall

You are right. May be if the harmonic channel which is under testing can show this, D2H can provide.

I agree, But it would be a great launch pad for D2h UHD service if they can manage to provide World cup finals in UHD

RE: D2H Testing "Harmonic" UHD Channel in HEVC format

Good work by kKumarbhai sir nice sharing

Ultra HD is very high Resolution Example: 4K & above ,So friends you will not get this Resolution on your present HD boxes Full HD supports only up to 1920 x 1080 Resolutions.

A little brief of H.264/265 Containers: H.265 was originally developed as the 'HEVC' (High Efficiency Video Coding) format jointly by the Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). It was approved as the official successor to H.264 in April 2013. At present we have H.264 codec in our boxes.

Hence now we have double the Resolution with new FORMAT (HEVC) apart from exiting one ,So nothing to worry about , More the Resolutions you will get More Clarity .Technology never stops.

wow... tell me I just didnt saw this news.. :skd
Indian dth, now supporting UHD chnls :ohya

@sas123 : I think its a gr8 initiative by d2h, which wud bring the UHD technology to India at a faster rate...
Yes, HD chnls are a must, but just look at a broader picture, bringing in UHD is like changing the benchmarks set in present technology, it takes it one notch higher. :tup

@kumarbhai ji: gr8 update :clap
