Like expected Viacom18 isn't interested in what Disney is quoting for their Indian business.

Sun TV definitely needs the IP that comes along with Disney Star to carve a path for the future. Disney Star has a strong reality TV department in the south that will help Sun TV.

Ambani is not interest as Minor partner in Disney Star, so he was ditched Sony deal earlier. Sun tv might not invest much in TV business, Finally no one interested with billion dollars of investment in Disney Star TV business.

Sony should cancel the merger with Zee and buy Star India.
They can get back all lost movie properties & cricket rights, I think its would be perfect match for Sony if they can buy Star India.

All these r just speculations buddy.

Firstly it is very unlikely that Disney will completely sell all of Star India assets, most probably they will have a partnership with them being majority stakeholders including in the sports + OTT space.....remember one cannot compare Viacom entering JV with TV18 to operate in Indian Market, here Disney India already has a team which has understanding of the market just that they need to give more freedom to their Indian Team to take decisions based on how in each genre on TV or in OTT space there is a customised strategy needed which is evolved as per changing media landscape ........ Star India under Fox followed this plan to build a strong business in India just that they were more willing to invest in extremely high costing sports properties where returns/profits were less or long term but Disney has more cautious approach, having a local partner will help split the investment burden thereby widening to the scope to grow the business in different spheres more efficiently.

Disney can even consider having multiple partners for running channels in various genres like in Sports + OTT space they can collaborate with a partner which has more financial resources and presence in areas which can help sports, OTT business to leverage these effectively and in other genres they can do similar tie ups which can expand business while competing with rivals + earning profits for each stakeholder

Here in India, Ambani have upper hand in Sports OTT business, so Disney can't deny him as Major partner for their Sports+OTT business sale.

Amazon have Digital streaming, E-commerce and Retail stores (MORE branded), where as Reliance have multiple businesses like TATA and BIRLA. So, We can't restrict them in one business. :D
one correction (more retail) store is owned by other company its not owned by amazon.

kids channel ads does have good takers they also focus on quality rather than increasing quantity compared to other genre . that's why still kids channel are managing to get newer shows in few months compared to English Gec genre . some kids channel like Cartoon Network & Etv bal bharat target both family and kids . they could watch together with their kids . even nick trying through newer kids shows also focusing on kids and parents watching together. Disney animated & pixar movies- are entertaining and watchable by all ages , Hungama tv - kids family anime series - Doraemon , Shinchan thanks to edit is quite popular among kids and family.

Now Disney dials Adani, Sun TV etc list go on :D
I can assure 99.99% that Sun TV is not in talks😅. Till any official news comes out such speculations continue to rise. Also I can't find a lot of buyers for large sized Disney Star. Reliance, Tata & Adani (if interested), Amazon are some of the only few conglomerates able to bear the Star Empire.

Sun is simply not at the scale of the big players. Except Sun TV all its channels are suffering. It hasn’t been launching any new channels and nor does it plan to do so any time soon, with Sun Neo being a rumour at best. I don’t think it will shed its South mentality and focus in the near future.
