AT&T - Warner Bros is an example as to why Telecom Cos should never buy content production companies. If they want to attract their subscribers with a larger library of content, just license the content from one of the big studios in the market.

They have failed to aggregate content from Zee5 to their xstream app, They have charged too much for Sony Liv content in Xstream app.

it would be better if ETV buys stake in Disney star rather than sun group, etv group have better presence in more states and have experience from earlier years of managing GEC with different interesting shows rather than sun one who have started having less shows and focusing more on making films and same old serials .

if sun tv buys they might end making disney channels with boring shows , their own kids channels have lesser variety . they rarely add new shows and compared to them even Disney atleast adds newer shows in kids channels. ETV is doing lot better in kids genre , they can make similar way in other channels.

I believe in that case they won't get CCI nod because it will create monopoly

They can create a new company for OTT and sports channels business, then transfer sports rights by shutdown of some sports channels.

Better if ETV purchase Star India from Disney...even few years back ETV north channels top position.
