It's not totally waste. If you'll select all those channels on Ala-Carte basis then it'll become little bit costly. Also, you can add extra 5 SD channels without paying additional NCF on their packs.

Regarding complimentary pack channels, yes they should remove those then pack will become more affordable.
I think as these packs were introduced before the launch of complementary pack that's why those channels are also a part of it but now they should modify those packs.

Do not go for airtel bundle packs, as stated by Gopi bro it has many FTA channels which r either being given free or part of complimentary bundle being provided by airtel. Also there r many channels part of broadcaster bouquet which u might not watch but are included in these packs thus again causing increase in NCF and regular price.

For instance i have decided to boycott Zee bcoz they telecast content on hindi news channel which i find irritating, objectionable and causes disharmony among people. I have just chosen &TV (only on one connection for mother), &Pictures, Zee Bollywood, Living Foodz and kept out other zee channels. In total i am saving money through this too as compared to what basic bouquet would have costed. You can also make such decisions. It is time consuming and often confusing to chose from options but totally worth it

For me airtel recommended packs are good. When I selected channels on Ala-Carte basis it costs me 280 for 6 HD & 7-8 SD channels whose rates were also not more than ₹2 but airtel packs costs 290/month for 92 channels including HD.
It'll differ person by person as per his/her need.

May be. But UP/BH packs are good they don't contain much FTA & useless channels.
Regarding NCF free channels, as far as I know it's only applicable if we'll take airtel recommended packs not on our self-made packs.
