Both are disasters.

Maidaan got good reviews from critics but audience reactions are mixed to negative. Youtubers claiming it got a great word of mouth but it's not ground reality. Maidaan is a high budget movie. It's budget is around 200 crore. It might end up it's lifetime within 35 crore. So a huge disaster.

BMCM budget is around 300 crore. It had a lot of negativity even before the movie release. After release, youtubers run an extreme level of negative campaign. It's lifetime will be around 55 crore in India. Overseas will be around 35 crore. Much better results compared to last few Akshay Kumar release. But still it's a disaster.

Hit movies from Bollywood this year are - TBMAUJ, Article 370, Crew, Shaitaan. Fighter is average (200 crore plus India gross + approx 150 crore overseas gross). It's a profitable movie for producers.

Another small budget movie Madgaon Express (made on a budget of around 20 crore) earned 30 crore till now. According to me it's a hit. It's got positive reactions from both audiences & critics. According to so called renowned Bollywood box office portals it's an average grosser. The same portals declared Tiger 3, Brahmastra hit (both earned less than their budget in India).

Finally some studio head talks some sense. Reducing ticket price is important here in India too. 1000 crore films like rrr, kgf 2, jawan, pathan each have merely around 4 crore footfalls which is nothing compared to population.

Very true. Ticket prices are so high even high earners don't think they are worth it nowadays.
