MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Life OK is all set to launch its much-awaited fantasy show ‘Prem Ya Paheli… Chandrakanta’ on 4 March. It will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm.
‘Prem Ya Paheli… Chandrakanta’ is an adapted version of Doordarshan’s popular series ‘ ‘Chandrakanta.’
The fantasy drama is produced by Nikhil Sinha, who had earlier produced the hit series ‘Siya Ke Ram’ for Star Plus. Kritika Kamra will play the eponymous lead character in the show.
‘Prem Ya Paheli… Chandrakanta’ will replace the channel’s existing thriller show ‘Khunkhar: SuperCops vs SuperVillains’, which was revamped on 24 December. ‘Khunkhar’, a love story between a werewolf and vampire, was supposed to be a 26-episode series but will wrap up prematurely.
Apparently, Harshad Arora, the male lead in Khunkhar, was offered the role of the hero in Chandrakanta, which he turned down. Arora says that he has no regrets as a bigger opportunity awaits him.
Life OK will be competing with Hindi GEC Colors, which is also set to launch a new version of the Chandrakanta story, produced by Ekta Kapoor. Colors has not revealed the launch date yet.
