Its actually loss for couple of years and they make profit after that and at the end of five years, the consolidated revenue from IPL will be more than the bid amount,Star says Ipl is profitable for them. They bought it for 16347 crores(3270 crore/year).plus their promotion and telecasting expense. And for this bigger deal small profit is not satisfactory.So that they have to generate a revenue of atleast 3500 crores from this season. They only revealed ad revenue of 2000 crores. And where does they get the next 1500+ crores to make the business profitable..?
