Feud between Zeel and cable operators in TN has led to the removal of Zee Tamil from the basic packs and it has affected the ratings of Zee Tamil to a great extent. Don't know what's in store for future.

I was watching live cricket on Sony Six today and I was surprised that ads were not frequent; I was very surprised that ads were only about sporting property on Sony channels like WWE or Australian open. So, I am perplexed about how would the channel make money? Subscription fee is also not that big to feed the content acquisition and all. I noticed the same thing while watching Saturday night Live on comedy Central. Its ad slots were used for promoting other shows on the channel. Can someone help me in understanding this ?

Same with WWE. Only WWE Shop and Sony's Sports contents ads. Even VH1 airs few ads. Nowadays broadcasters' gets less ads.

Sony had advertisement issues before also. Two cricket series in West Indies were aired without advertisements before.

But English movie, news and infotainment channels are doing well. It's pretty shocking that sports isn't attracting advertisers.
