Trai should set deadline for ban of sd settop box as like analog cabletv

Trai should mandate all broadcaster to have only HD feed for all the new content.

Now OTTs are streaming in 4k, HDR, Dolby Vision etc, but still live channels are struggling to get HD content in better frame rates and resolution.

1. More transponder by all DTH
2. Upgrade SD set-top box with HD by all DTH with schemes like EMI
3. No more SD Channels, and all Channels will be in HD quality without the word HD.
4. Reduce or eliminate the NCF from TRAI, as they already taking GST on each channel subscription.
5. IPTV subscription for live TV

DTH operators are struggling with profits and your suggestions they can not follow as definitely they wil go into deeper loss and close down their business

U mean to say, if they have only HD Channels, they will go on loss? Nothing like that..

If you remember decades back we were paying Rs. 250 for 1GB data. But now we are getting Unlimited 5G speed data at Rs.239, that's called revolution in Digital world.

There has to be a proper solution for Satellite 🛰 Channels too to reduce cost and efficiency. Else in next decade it becomes a memory.

HD logo's showing on YouTube Channels

Even Lakshya TV in Gujarati shows an HD logo. Many devotional channels air in HD on YouTube and cable platforms but none of them are HD or even 720p and 16:9 on TV!

Yes one sattelite transponder cost they pay can accomodate many SD channel,but one HD channel will take space equivalent to 8 SD channels,why they will take more transponder on rent as per your request,it is your dream but no body will do it,here today north people are,disconnecting DTH connection and going for DD free dish,Tatasky was in profit for so many years last year they have gone in loss

Your question itself has an answer. Govt should find a solution to reduce the cost of Transponder, so that it is affordable to all DTH. That will solve the problem..

Right now India has Airtel, TataPlay, SunDirect, VideoconD2H, Dish TV etc.. Suppose if they want to launch 1 HD channel, all broadcaster needs to transmit in their own rented transponder,
which is equal to 1 Channel × No. of Broadcasters.

Instead of this, what if the broadcaster itself has its own transponder and all the licensed DTH operators uses those signals? This will reduce the transponder usage.

This is just one thought, similarly experts can do R&D on reducing the cost..

The both channels moved out of their brand graphics based title cards in hotstar alone...
