The last movie on HBO HD is Memoirs of a Geisha rather than Mad Max Fury Road. Maybe HBO wants to have a peaceful, emotional exit rather than a final big bang!

So many memories attached with HBO, watching Memoirs of a Geisha with broken heart. One last goodbye...

It was bound to happen as most of its niche audience moved to ott and broadcasters still not reinventing with time to capture untapped audience. There is large population just entering in watching english content and has less access to ott or internet but chs r not finding ways to connect with them.

Also HBO has always been a subscription fee driven broadcaster and they were finding it hard to adjust to ad driven revenue model, pandemic further let them search cost cutting methods. Anyways i m sure they will launch HBO Max soon in India and put investment there. They tried to grow in diff genres but unfortunately did not succeed, even struggling in kids genre. TCM, Lumiere Movies, Imagine TV, Toonami were fab chs but did not get right reach or promotion
