Smart Box is a type of Set Top Box which will be using for DTH connection as well as for apps like Youtube/Voot/liv/prime Videos/Netflix.

Smart stick is a media streaming device which will be using for OTT apps like above mentioned

Yes, you need an internet connection to run the streaming apps.
Live tv works through the cable from the airtel dish.
