As far As I know, it uses Dish for all Live channels, and uses your home WiFi for online content, various Apps, including IPTV ones and otherwise.

I am using internet HD box for more than a year now .Some points to know before upgrading to internet box.

1. You are stuck with infinity plan. If you plan to continue with it for coming years go for it.
2. Box cannot be used when you have not recharged .Every time you ON it checks for subscription.
3. If you already have smart tv , then this is no use .
4 . PQ is slightly better , but live events are delayed by few seconds due to processing
