M Tunes SD & HD Will Not Be Removed Now From Tata Sky

MUMBAI: Music broadcaster MTunes is in the process of renewing its contract with direct-to-home (DTH) service provider Tata Sky.

The new distribution deal will be for one year, sources in the industry said. The channels include MTunes (SD) and MTunes (HD).

The old contract between broadcaster MTunes and Tata Sky expires on 31 October.

Earlier, Tata Sky had issued a public notice stating that it had failed to mutually reach an understanding with MTunes to renew the agreement.

MTunes offers Bollywood music in original HD and 5.1 Dolby surround sound. It is positioned as an elite, cool, sexy and colourful channel and has managed to carve out a niche space in the highly competitive and crowded music space.
