MEASAT-3b Launching on 28 May 2014 - Confirmed News

Its Confirmed that Measat 3b Launch date is 28 May 2014. Sun direct may add new Channels in few Months when it gets more Transponders.

MEASAT Global Berhad (“MEASAT”) announced today that the MEASAT-3b satellite is confirmed for launch on 28 May 2014 GFT (29 May 2014 Kuala Lumpur time).

launch date is 6th june so , if launch take place as planed then sundirect may get tp by first week of july

we have to wait and watch

But how sun direct is adding 9 TP in june ?

SD is adding 9 TPs in June because. They are getting 9 TPs from Measat 3C not from Measat 3B.



The announcement comes after Sun Direct got a nod from Antrix Corporation for additional capacity. The platform currently has 11 HD and 210 SD channels. “We had applied to Antrix and have got its approval. With this, we will be shifting to MEASAT 3C and hence, will get nine transponders by first week of June. Our HD offering is currently low, but with the extra capacity we aim to take it to 30, while we expect the number of SD channels to go up to 350,” informs Sun Direct MD Mahesh Kumar.
