This so called customer friendly TRAI wouldn't introduce a floor pricing which is slowly pushing a telecom company towards bankruptcy. Won't do anything about it. Sure creating a duopoly on telecom would be customer friendly where plans of most operators are almost similarly priced.

NTO and NTO 2.0 is also supposed to give relief to customers. With almost same NCF being charged across all cable and DTH operators. There is almost non existent competition in cable and DTH space. Sure this one is also suppose to be customer friendly.

It's not broadcasters. It should be CCI and consumers taking TRAI to courts.

Not sure about others, But I for one, will not go back to DTH or cable anytime soon... They have simply ruined it for me with NTO1 itself. NTO2 is just icing on the cake.

Btw, cable scenario is even worse than DTH. Some of them will not even accept the voluntary selection of channels and force DPO packs.
Cables don't have any app or website for ala carte or anything like that
They will surely be in trouble

I don't understand why Sports channel are costing that much. I mean it's not like they are in 4K or something. Star telecast IPL highlights all time. What's in it that someone should pay 25 a month for it? I will pay 25 if they will give me 4k. (y)

We need to realise that these rights are expensive. We didn't got Copa on TV back to back because it wouldn't generated profits.

When I said someone charging ₹25 for sports is fine. I mean for broadcaster like Sony and Eurosport who offers fresh content just like GECs throughout the week and weekends. Not one trick ponies who is selling something rotten like highlights throughout the month to make up the cost.

Tbh no one told them to bid that aggressive. Niche content don't make that much p/l. The L in balance sheet of Star is fueled by irresponsible bidding for one sports. They just bid super aggressive and then get away from taking furthers Ls by directing to us consumers. Sports channel as a public good should not be charged above 15. You show ads. Try and Make major money through it. Inaccessible sports is rampant in UK and US. You will see how many people from UK complaining about unreasonable cost they pay to watch PL match or even going to stadium tickets cost 100 pounds. Teams/ Association/ Broadcaster are looting us and making sports more and more elitist. / Saying all these after demanding 4k is hypocrisy by me. But allow. :ROFLMAO:

Who said cable or dth operators cannot give bouquet at low cost, they can give discount on NCF but u r wrong to demand that one operator should get channels at low cost while others at high cost....this was unlevel system earlier. Operators can provide good service, quality and add on svod chs to compete
