You said there was no vested interests keeping Disney International HD. Now please explain their "strategy."

There is still no vested interest but making it available just on a-la-carte basis is a strategy to focus more on generating revenue of this channel largely thru subscription route. It is sort of a niche offering hence ad revenue is hardly there for this channel.

Atleast they r continuing with this channel despite the difficulty and it not being profitable. Shouldn't u and all others be happy about this?

This has nothing to do with making a channel non performing as u r making it out to be. They have increased price of all key driver channels to Rs. 19 so that people opt for these thru bouquet mode rather than a-la-carte mode. They even increased price of Star Gold from Rs. 10 to Rs. 19 bcoz of same reason

Which is what i said bro, standalone prices of popular channels have been increased so that people opt for these via bouquet and price of Disney International HD has been increased to generate more subscription revenue as being a niche offering it hardly attracts ads. Broadcasters design package and pricing strategy considering all factors so as to serve the viewers demand properly and have a viable business model for their channels

Star Suvarna price also increased from Rs.9 to Rs. 19, hope this will bring big budget reality shows, serials and good promotions to channel.

Actually i like the new pricing strategy of disney-star and viacom18. They have kept key driver channel prices on high level thus making people opt for them via bouquet, this is essential bcoz lot of investment is made on these channels & earning more revenue is essential. If a subscriber opts for these via a-la-carte route then thru high pricing subscription revenue can be increased as simultaneously there will reduction in ratings of others channels which remain unsubscribed hence loss of ad revenue while if one opts for all channels (main + secondary) via bouquet then discounts r given on pricing of these key driver channels as same can be compensated from overall subscription revenue generated thru price of bouquet as well more reach of channels will translate into good ad revenue.

Most of the secondary channels have been priced less as there is much less pressure on these to generate high revenue when compared to key driver channels

Star Suvarna latest price is 12Rs+GST

Just to make it clear, Baby TV HD is "not" shutting down from broadcaster end...it will continue to be available in other countries and but in India it will not be made available to viewers. Disney Junior will continue to cater to toddlers and maybe later on few Baby TV shows might be added to its schedule

So what impact it will have on the broadcaster packs will the price be increased or decreased I am saying wrt all broadcaster packs of all channels

There was a genuine reason for the delay and earlier on i have already explained it in great detail
Don't surprised even if they postpone these new channels launching and including Hungama, Disney Channels, some regional sports channels too shutting down list. BCCI Media Rights decide Continue or shutting down of some sports channels.
