So i once again checked and here is some more context to what i am trying to state. Here is a RIO Star India introduced in 2020 which had no capping on bouquet and complied with older rules as court had struck down 15% bouquet discount rule. Same was never implemented and from 1st feb 2020 to 28th feb 2020 older Pre NTO RIO continued for all operators as a temporary extension was provided

Post this TRAI again came up with an amendment and introduced 33% capping on bouquet pricing via twin conditions and broadcasters launched updated RIO which came into effect from March 2020. All these bouquets have price capping

Here is the 2nd version version of the NTO RIO for which airtel digital tv signed agreement with star india (disney star)... Later more changes were brought in this RIO which again were updated by Airtel Digital TV

Tata Play is still continuing with nascent 2018 variant NTO RIO of Star India.

Sun Direct has signed latest Updated NTO 1.0 RIO wherein they r getting channels like Star Gold Select at just Rs. 2

@Siva anna here is an example for u.Total a-la-carte price of all channels included in currently applicable variant of Star Value Prime Hindi bouquet comes out to be Rs. 78 while price of the bouquet is approx Rs. 58...so discount being provided in bouquet is below 30%.

Please note Airtel Digital TV has signed agreement for latest NTO 1.0 RIO variant while Tata Play and Sun Direct continue with older variant of Disney - Star RIO agreement hence don't bring in Star Value Prime Bouquet as available on Tata Play and Sun Direct in this discussion as in those RIO agreement r different
Current NTO is implemented without any discount cap. 15% discount rule is not implemented. No further amendment has come into force till now.
This bouquet is available to me. You can google prices and calculate discount.

Anna i have stated it very clearly. Tata Play did not sign up for amended / updated disney-star RIO which was brought in beginning of 2021 and continuing with 1st version of disney-star RIO which was brought in when NTO rules were implemented in starting of 2020. Airtel Digital TV signed agreement for updated/amended NTO 1.0 RIO of disney-star hence there is difference visible in pricing of some channels / bouquet of disney star which r available to Tata Play and Airtel Digital TV subscribers

Bro! Ok I'll Come To Your Point,

NTO Regime Is Same, Irrespective Of Amended RIO Or Non-Amennded RIO,

Where Broadcasters Had No Capping On Discount

And This One Not Implemented Why To Talk About That??

Anna, @Vadirocks bro had posted bouquet information which was from early stage of NTO implementation when there was no capping of bouquet prices as court had struck down 15% discount cap rule. In beginning of 2020 itself TRAI brought amendments and 1st twin condition was implemented which again brought back capping. This is why despite revising RIO few times in 2020 and 2021 broadcasters were not able to implement pricing strategy like they have done in the Latest RIO which allows 45% discount on bouquet .
No, what @Vadirocks bro had posted is the currently applicable ones on ALL the platforms including AIRTEL DIGITAL TV.
@Siva anna here is an example for u.Total a-la-carte price of all channels included in currently applicable variant of Star Value Prime Hindi bouquet comes out to be Rs. 78 while price of the bouquet is approx Rs. 58...so discount being provided in bouquet is below 30%.
Ok, the bouquet SVP Hindi costs 49 without tax and the sum of al-a-carte inside the bouquet costs 75.1. What percentage of discount subtraction gives 49 from 75.1?

Let us calculate it based on the detailed information below so that you can stop arguing further.

Al-a-carte prices without/with tax:

Star Gold - 8 - 9.44
UTV Action - 2 - 2.36
UTV Movies - 2 - 2.36
Star Gold 2 - 1 - 1.18
Star Utsav Movies - 1 - 1.18
Star Plus - 19 - 22.42
Star Bharat - 10 - 11.8
Star Utsav - 1 - 1.18
BINDASS - 0.10 - 0.11
Star Sports 1 Hindi 19 - 22.42
Star Sports 2 - 6 - 7.08
Star Sports 3 - 2 - 2.36
Star Sports First - 1 - 1.18
Nat Geo Wild - 1 - 1.18
National Geographic - 2 - 2.36

Total al-a-carte price without tax - 75.1
Total al-a-carte price with tax - 88.61

Bouquet price without tax - 49
Bouquet price with tax - 57.82

Discount percentage without tax - 34.75
Discount percentage with tax - 34.74

So the rounded discount percentage is 35%. I believe 35 > 33. So the 33% you have been repeatedly quoting is busted in the same bouquet you mentioned here. All these prices were taken from AIRTEL DIGITAL TV, which you think have the latest RIOs.

Your answer to @Vadirocks bro's question about discount cap on NTO 1.0 below is absolutely incorrect. You are basically saying there is a 33% discount cap under NTO 1.0.

You Mean To Say Bouquet Price Discount Cap Is 33% Under NTO 1.0??

Your below post is talking about the amended RIOs under NTO 1.0 itself, which is without any discount cap. All these amended RIOs have been released by various broadcasters following NTO 1.0. You got confused between the RIOs that were released when the court case was still going on, you thought that those RIOs were following the NTO 2.0.

NTO 2.0 RIOs, that were released by the broadcasters following Mumbai High Court order had huge increases in al-a-carte pricing and all the driver channels have been kept out of bouquets. Again, those never reached the DPOs/Consumers.

You r wrong Anna. Tata Play is still having older NTO 1.0 RIO inplace for disney star channels, u will see that on Tata Play there will b difference in price of certain disney star channels and even variation incase of placement of channels in Disney star bouquet . Older variant which is still applicable on Tata Play platform has Star Gold Select part of Star Value Prime Bouquet and UTV channels still excluded from this bouquet and part of separate disney pack. Also prices of channels like Bindass, Star Gold Select and few others would also be visible when u compare it to latest version of disney star bouquets (amended NTO 1.0 RIO) prices which r effective on Airtel Digital TV Platform.

Adding to the above information , Baby TV HD was part of 1st variant of NTO 1.0 RIO which was introduced by disney star and as Tata Play still continues to have this RIO agreement inplace hence Tata Play subscribers r also getting to see Baby TV HD ...as Airtel Digital TV signed onto amended NTO 1.0 RIO of disney-star hence they dropped this channel from the platform long back

Strange that u do not know about this until now, we have discussed this earlier too in the forum.

As i have stated i am just mentioning proper facts and not spreading any misinformation as u and some others r constantly alleging against me. Request all to please 1st properly understand what i am saying rather than just levelling wrong allegations on me.

This matter itself has complexities involved and require patience / deep diving to clearly decode the correct information

You seem to think yourself as correct all the time, and you can't accept that others can also be at your level or better. You keep saying "You are wrong Anna". Furthermore, you seem to think you are the only person on the forum who can understand the complexities of this, and have patience and deep diving skills to decode the correct information and nobody else on the forum does. Well I have news for you, you are completely wrong to think that way. Several forum members have already pointed out the incorrect and misleading information you have been giving on multiple threads. So it seems like multiple forum members have better understanding than you of the current rules in place. So you need to go back and read all the regulatory orders and the forum threads related to this topic again to correct yourself. Else, if you still want to keep believing what's already in your head, no one will stop you, but just don't put those incorrect thoughts and misinformation on the forum posts, as that is creating utter confusion amongst the forum members who may not have time to go deep into these things.

One final thing, if you care to listen to me. There is nothing wrong in accepting when we are mistaken. In this case, you are wrong, and it is proven with the numbers above. So, just accept and move on. It's best not to extend this topic.

Airtel is always faster than other DTH for imcreasing prices/decreasing discounts, so they can do anything for it.

I also think that @dino29 bhai should let the matter be and not pursue it further. All parties have put forward their arguments. I personally don’t understand any of the calculations and regulations at first glance, but I feel it is not correct to go against a staff member. Let us accept what @Siva garu is saying and leave it at that instead of risking further repercussions.

In sun direct also, star channels prices are different from other dths now. Like, Disney channel is of rs.9 on sun direct instead of 8 in other dths & cable tvs.

IBF president wants no regulatory rules to be there for the broadcasting sector. From his interview he accepted that the bouquet prices have been increased after the amendment. If the bouquet discount had gone up from 33% to 45%, the bouquet prices should have decreased. The reality is that there was no cap before, so the bouquets were cheap (50-60% discount on some of them), and now there is a cap, and the bouquets that had more than 45% discount before, have become costlier. See the below.

But with amendments to the NTO, will prices increase again, resulting in pay TV subscribers moving to OTT or FTA?

We will wait and watch. We will be conscious of not charging much. We increased our bouquet prices by a single digit. We had not increased prices in the last three years. Looking at inflation, IBDF has advised its members not to increase more than 7-8%.
