Own: Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada) has announced its Canadian primetime programming slate for original series premiering next month, anchored by the previously announced ‘The Rosie Show’ and ‘Oprah’s Lifeclass’ on weeknights.
New primetime series beginning on 16 and 17 October include ‘Don’t Tell The Bride’, ‘Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s’ and ‘Visionaries: Inside The Creative Mind’, along with all-new second seasons of the returning shows ‘Ask Oprah’s All Stars’ and ‘Our America With Lisa Ling’.
‘The Rosie Show’ is the new daily talk show from Rosie O’Donnell. ‘Oprah’s Lifeclass’ has been inspired by The Oprah Winfrey Show with all-new insights, life lessons and personal revelations from Oprah.
Corus Entertainment VP, Television, head of programming and production Maria Hale said, “This fall, we look forward to building on the success of Own’s Canadian schedule with the star power of Rosie and Oprah as our anchors in primetime. Going day and date with the U.S. broadcast of ‘The Rosie Show’ and ‘Oprah’s Lifeclass’ allows our Canadian viewers to engage in the conversation on all platforms in real time.”
The channel will also have the special ‘Celine: 3 Boys’. The second season premieres of Enough Already! with Peter Walsh, In The Bedroom With Dr. Laura Berman and Oprah’s Master Class will also kick off.
On an all-new season of ‘Ask Oprah's All Stars’, Dr. Phil, Suze Orman and Dr. Oz team up to answer the most pressing viewer questions about health, wealth and mental well-being.
Hosted by Gayle King, the season will feature specially themed episodes: Ultimate Checklists, That's Embarrassing!, Is This Normal?, Love, s#x & More, 20 Questions for 20-Somethings and Myths, Secrets & Confessions.
Celine: 3 Boys looks at singer Celine Dion who is used to big changes. She recently added twins to her family and is now the proud mother of three boys, but now she’s uprooted her family from Florida and moving to Las Vegas for her new show Celine at Caesars Palace.
The one-hour special gives viewers an inside peek into the singers’ day-to-day life revealing not only the creative process of launching a new Vegas extravaganza, but also following Celine as she helps son Rene-Charles with his homework, juggles newborn twins, and spends quality time with her husband Rene.
Confronting is a new docu-series thar takes viewers inside the mediation process as a victim and offender come together, face to face, for the most important conversation of their lives. Each one-hour episode follows an emotional story that begins with a crime. It brings together victim and offender, documenting their powerful, painful and transformative journey, as they both try to come to terms with the terrible event that links them.
The mediation process culminates in a no-holds-barred in-person meeting in prison, and during the emotional confrontation, the offender learns of the pain and suffering caused by his misdeeds and is offered the opportunity to
apologize and ask for redemption.
The Devil You Know returns for a second season. This gives a glimpse into the betrayals, double lives and psychological profiles of some of the most deceitful con artists, sexual offenders and serial killers on file. In Season 2, viewers will hear more first-hand accounts of each victim’s harrowing experience and with the guidance of an on-camera expert psychologist; the series offers insight into the criminal mind.
The series also educates viewers on how to recognise the tell-tale signs of a con artist by identifying trends and exposing the schemes of the men and women who have wreaked havoc on the lives of their victims.
Don’t Tell The Bride is about what happens when a cash-strapped couple is given $25,000 to create their dream wedding. The bride and groom are separated three weeks leading up to the nuptials, and the groom must plan the wedding with no help from his fiancée. The bride won't see the invitation until it arrives in the mail she'll try on her dress just prior to walking down the aisle, and will see the reception for the first time with the other guests. Don't Tell the Bride promises tantrums and tears of joy before the “big day" is done.
