People who supports, welcomes the regional sports channels should read this completely to understand how you guys are being cheated by the broadcasters/dth/cable.
Longer post, but try to read the points whenever you get the time to understand the whole picture.
*Regional sports channel broadcastings are not always the exact replica of their main prime channel counterparts, and there where the problem begins.
*Take Star Sports 1 English as an example, it broadcast literally all of the premium tournaments and many of the sports tournaments exclusively as well, which is not broadcasting on any other regional channels.
*But why? Just because of we have chosen the regional packs in our dth/cable, we don't deserve it to see? Here who the hell is responsible to made the Madantory rule that the sports channels should be in their respective regional language pack only?
*Greedy broadcasters can easily broadcast in regional channels as well with English language atleast. It also helps them to get ad revenue, reach, ratings. But they simply won't, just showing the same highlights and shows repeatedly in their channels again and again and expect us to subscribe their other channels.
*In this case, a lot of credits should be given to zee network. They literally broadcast the ilt20 on every channels including the good trp gec movies channels even though the broadcasting language is English.
*They should give the customer an option to choose atleast for the sports channel like whether they want the regional language or the English one. Every channel is priced at the same. If someone can't get everything in their regional channel, then why the hell they want to give you the full money or who the hell are you the people to decide that what we should / shouldn't watch.
*Don't take it wrong, even an illiterate can read and understand the numbers on the scoreboard if they know the followed the sports. They won't care about reading the players name and other things on the screen in their language.
*That's why the multiple audios on the broadcasting is highly recommended by most of the customers time to time. It will be more than enough for someone who want to listen it for understanding what's going on.
*Broadcasting rights tender should have the clauses such,
#Every regional sports channels should have the English audio feed with their respective channel language since it's the global feed. Don't push your regional feeds into the customer throat as taken for granted.
#Broadcasters should lock atleast 1 channel for the whole tournament which shouldn't be changed for their own reasons. All customers don't have either your entire channel network in their packs or daily burn rate (DBR) luxury to subscribe. Couple of years before, Sony network broadcasted the BBL & LPL on ten 5 on one day, then next day on ten 1, another day on ten 2.
*Don't expect them to launch a channel which is dedicated specifically to one sport. Because they won't be able use the current loophole by changing their broadcasting channels as their wish. So expect more names like Star Sports 17,18,etc.
*Sometimes I feel bad for satellite channels and the industry due to their fall. But after seeing this much of greedy & stupidity from them, I can agree that they deserved this fall each and every bit of it. Kicking out the useless FTA channels will give them a lot of bandwidth and operational cost savings to provide more and better useful channels. But it won't happen at all.
*Last but not the least, none other than the dumbest brainless who single handedly killing the television and telecom industry called TRAI.
*From allowing them to Increasing the network carriage fee in the form of NTO 3.0 to Make the telecom providers removes the data / lower the validity in their base plan in the name of doing the good thing for customers. They are real synonyms of fools, madness.
*Seriously asking, is there any way to lodge complaint against these greedy broadcasters and id*otic TRAI regarding all of these issues? Just let me know.
