Just once think about India cricketing rights monopoly. Around 95% cricket rights will be with them after merger!

CCI now said same thing which I mentioned few days ago, but some people got offended

if CCI stuburns on cricket right, here are choice in front of RIL and Disney to move for merger approval:

1. Removing exclusivity clause on ICC non Indian cricket rights. (Most likely to happen)
2. Partnering with smaller broadcaster to share Television rights of ICC and other smaller cricket tournaments.
3. spin off of star sports as a separate entity with a clause of merger once lucrative cricket rights are exhausted.

Apart from other things/changes i expect post merger, really hope Hindi Movie Channels Cluster Team handles programming strategy of Viacom18 Hindi Movie Channels so that content strategy of latter can be improved by adding more bollywood movies to its daily schedule...... I would be "really disappointed" if Viacom18 Hindi Movie Channels Cluster Team gets to handle programming strategy of Disney Star Hindi Movie Channels and introduce more Dubbed South Indian Movies to its daily schedule .

Also right now lot of sports content owned by Viacom18 do not get proper coverage on Sports18 channels and this too hopefully will see improvements once merger is completed
