But the Reliance's case is an 'Up-Scaling' one. We were discussing about the genuine 1080i from the broadcaster itself.

Every other DTH should start thinking of providing better resolutions like RDTV 1420i, I think TS can definitely provide this considering TP space availability.

All the Channels on Tata Sky (which are either genuinely 1080i or up-scaled from 720p) can be processed to 1080p at our home using a video processor.

The processor, however is quite expensive. This is not an everyday solution, but I'm talking about the possibilities. I have found this advanced video processor for around US $1200 on Amazon.

sorry its 1,280×720 on hd channels of reliance i personally checked when i was watching it on my fta receiver. they are offering 704×576 on sd channels
